Ubidata Pursues Growth Strategy and Raises New Capital

Brussels, 15th of October 2015.

Ubidata, the Belgian leader in transport telematics, aims for expansion with €2 million capital increase and a strategic partnership with container tracking specialist Track4C.

Ubidata, have announced the completion of their €2m capital increase underwritten by existing shareholder BMF as well as two new investors, Cytiholding and Qbic Fund.

The funds will be used to accelerate Ubidata’s international expansion plan. Building on its leadership positions in Belgium, Ubidata plans to address the rapidly growing demand from European transport and logistics companies for trailer and wagon telematics technology as well as supply chain mobile applications for driver and goods management with a focus on the Pharma and Food Retail sectors. The technology penetration in these two segments is low throughout Europe, providing significant growth prospects for Ubidata. During the past several years, Ubidata has developed cutting-edge technology and software to help its clients optimise their transport and logistics operations.

Within the context of the capital increase, Ubidata has also entered into a strategic partnership with the business of Track4C, a company specialised in container tracking and hired a key technology expert in the very specific field of telematics for non-powered assets, such as containers and wagons.

Ubidata CEO, Paul Havelange, says: “The capital increase as well as the partnership with Track4C guarantees Ubidata’s significant cost optimisation and power consumption efficiency for mobile logistics and tracking solutions. But it goes further by bringing on board specific intellectual property for projects in the growing market of container fleet management. For Ubidata this opens access to large fleets, making our offering truly multi-modal whilst giving opportunities for major growth in the coming years.”
